Liberty University manages event parking at Williams Stadium through its own Event Services team, and bus assignments are coordinated on a per-event basis. Charter buses typically drop off at the main entrance area on University Boulevard and are then directed to designated bus staging — Lot 14 on the north side of campus near Williams Stadium Drive is the primary oversized-vehicle area, though assignments can shift by event. Because Liberty's commencement in May draws more than 50,000 attendees and its football and basketball schedules fill the campus calendar from September through March, parking assignments change frequently.
Confirm current drop-off and staging instructions with Liberty University Event Services before your visit and check the event-specific parking map posted at liberty.edu/athletics for your date.
Vines Center sits on Liberty University's campus and shares the campus event parking system. Charter buses drop off at the main entrance loop on University Boulevard and are directed to campus overflow and bus staging areas — typically the Lot 14 corridor on the north side of campus — coordinated through Liberty University Event Services. Because Vines Center hosts major concerts, convocations, and basketball games throughout the academic year, bus staging assignments vary by event.
Contact Liberty Event Services in advance to confirm your drop-off point and staging location for your specific date, and review the event parking map at liberty.edu/athletics before you arrive.
Academy Center of the Arts is located in downtown Lynchburg and has no dedicated on-site bus parking. Charter buses drop off passengers on Main Street or 9th Street directly adjacent to the venue. Keep in mind that Main Street runs one-way eastbound and Church Street runs one-way westbound through downtown Lynchburg, so your approach direction matters.
After drop-off, buses stage at the Ninth Street Parking Garage (900 Church St, Lynchburg, VA 24504) or nearby surface lots on Commerce Street. Confirm your specific drop-off approach with the venue at (434) 846-8499 before your event, and plan your pickup window in advance so the bus is staged and ready when your group exits.
The Historic Academy Theatre also has a Main Street drive for easy drop-off and pickup, while the Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theatre entrance is at 519 Commerce Street at Fifth Street; your bus can use the entrance that matches the event instead of sending everyone to the wrong building. The Academy Center of the Arts parking and directions page maps both venue access points.
Lynchburg Expo Center has on-site surface parking accessible from Memorial Avenue. Charter buses drop off at the main entrance on Memorial Avenue and can park in the adjacent surface lot, with oversized vehicles using the perimeter spaces. For large events like trade shows and consumer expos, the lot fills quickly and advance coordination with the venue is recommended — call the venue directly at (434) 847-1499 to confirm parking availability and any event-specific access instructions before your visit.
One charter bus keeps your whole group on one arrival plan instead of spreading across multiple cars and hunting for spaces on a busy event day.
Rivermont Pier is accessed via the scenic Rivermont Avenue corridor along the James River. There is no dedicated bus lot at the pier itself — charter buses drop off near the Rivermont Avenue access point and stage on adjacent side streets in the neighborhood. E.C. Glass Stadium (2115 Memorial Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24501) has a surface lot accessible from Memorial Avenue where oversized vehicles can stage.
For community events and outdoor gatherings at either location, confirm current access and staging with the City of Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department in advance, as event-specific arrangements may apply. Staging on side streets is first-come, first-served and fills quickly on busy event days.
Amazement Square is located at the corner of 9th Street and Commerce Street in downtown Lynchburg. Charter buses drop off directly on 9th Street in front of the museum entrance. There is no dedicated bus lot on-site — after drop-off, buses stage at the Ninth Street Parking Garage or metered surface lots on Commerce Street nearby.
Amazement Square requires advance reservations for school groups of 10 or more, so coordinate your transportation at the same time you book your visit. Call the museum at (434) 845-1888 to confirm group logistics and your preferred drop-off approach before your field trip date.
Book three to six months out for most Lynchburg trips, and stretch that to six months or more for Liberty University Commencement in May — the highest-demand bus date in the entire Lynchburg market, drawing more than 50,000 attendees. Liberty Flames home football games at Williams Stadium from September through November, basketball season at Vines Center from November through March, and prom season in April and May across Lynchburg-area high schools all fill the calendar fast. Waiting until the last minute WILL cost you more and may mean no availability at all.
The earlier you compare and book, the better your options and the better your price. Call 434-818-1060 right now to lock in your date!

Old City Cemetery
Old City Cemetery — Lynchburg Museum at the Old City Cemetery is one of Virginia's most remarkable historic sites — a 27-acre National Historic Landmark established in 1806, making it one of the oldest municipal cemeteries in the Commonwealth. The grounds include a significant Civil War section with Confederate and Union graves, a Victorian garden, a working herb garden, an antique hearse collection, and museum galleries exploring Lynchburg's history from the early 19th century through the Civil War era. Open Tuesday through Saturday, the cemetery is a popular destination for history tours, genealogy groups, school field trips, and heritage travel groups.
Charter buses drop off at the Taylor Street entrance, with staging on adjacent side streets in the Daniels Hill neighborhood. Advance notice to the museum is recommended for large groups — call the venue directly at (434) 847-1465.

Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park is Lynchburg's linear James River greenway — a connected network of trails, open lawns, fishing access, and scenic overlooks stretching through downtown and into Percival's Island Natural Area, a 68-acre island in the James River accessible from Concord Turnpike. The park hosts outdoor concerts, the Amazement Square River Festival, community runs, and seasonal events along the riverbank. The Blackwater Creek Trail connects Riverfront Park to the broader Lynchburg trail system, making it a popular destination for group outings combining a riverside gathering with a scenic walk.
Charter buses access the downtown riverfront section via Jefferson Street or Commerce Street, with drop-off near the river lawn and staging at adjacent surface lots. For Percival's Island, the trailhead parking area off Concord Turnpike accommodates oversized vehicles. A charter bus keeps your whole group together from pickup to riverbank.
